Today people in Omaha, Nebraska are just trying to cope and wait for this tragedy to blow over their hometown.
Like a lot of them said, "you never think that this could happen in you own hometown." That is so true! I always thought that stuff like this could never happen in Greenfield, or even here in San Diego where I live, but now, I know that anything is possible, and anyone is capable of horrific actions like this...ANYWHERE!
For something like this to happen during the holidays, is the worst timing. Well never is a good time, but during the holidays its even worse. I feel really bad for these people...the people that witnessed it, that were in the mall, and especially the families and friends of the victims.
Mom - I dont know if you remember, but some years ago, we got to the Northridge Mall in Salinas like right after what they thought was a shooting had occurred. Remember?

It was a shooting that had just occured at Northridge Mall. We missed it by minutes. We were meant to be spared.
I can't even imagine what the families of the victims must feel like. Also, the family of the gunman must be devastated with what their loved one has done.
