Tomorrow I will be going on, what im considering my first "official" vacation. I have taken "vacations" to Greenfield or Texas for the holidays, but no where like this!
I just got back from dropping off Sharah's sister Sherie, her husband Jay, and their daughter Kylah at the airport. They left to Hawaii today. We will meet them there tomorrow. So now its really sinking in that im really going to Hawaii.
Honestly I never thought I would get a chance to go to Hawaii, I wanna say in my life, but I also dont want to say that. But here I am, im going! The one thing I really wish, is that I can go with my family, especially Fabien and Miranda. One day, we will all be able to go together.
I have so much to do tonight. I of course have not packed a thing! But, I just cant...under pressure, I think I can pack better. My mom is gonna have a heart attack! =)

Ridiculous!

Gas prices have reached an all time high! An average of $3.26 a gallon!! How ridiculous is that! I remember when $5 would get you somewhere!
The highest before this, was $3.24 in May 2007.
Can't wait till its $5 bucks a gallon!!! YEAH RIGHT!! But at the rate we're going, I wouldn't be surprised!!

4,000 Too Many!!

After a blast in Southern Baghdad today, that killed 4 U.S. Soldiers, it brings the death toll to a grim milestone of 4,000.
4,000 of our soldiers dead because of a war that never should have been! I hate George W. Bush more then ever today!
BRING OUR TROOPS HOME!!

My Weekend
Friday...gosh, it seems so long ago already! I had a busy weekend. Friday I worked, and thats it!
Saturday, I worked from 10 - 2. I took the boys to this place called My Kids Clubhouse. It's basically a big play area, kind of like at McDonalds or something, but a lot cleaner, and nicer! I had never been there, but the boys had, it's pretty nice, and the boys had lots of fun! Then after work, I went to the Las Americas Outlets by the border, to go shopping with Sharah and her sister Sherie. We had to get some stuff for Hawaii. Then I came home, and got to see Baby Hailey for a little bit, because they had to come down to SD again, on a little emergency, so of course they brought her here to our house. Then I got ready, and we went out to celebrate a couple of our friends birthdays that are coming up. Marigar and Jay. We went to downtown San Diego to eat at a restaurant called Solei @ K. The food was good, just a little pricey. Then after dinner we headed upstairs to a bar and lounge called Altitude, and we hung out, had drinks, enjoyed the view, and the music. We left there at about 12, and then we headed to Marie's house and had some more drinks. We got home at about 2:30am.
Today, we all did some Hawaii planning, since it's coming up in less then a week. I tried on some outfits, washed all my clothes, old and new. Slept for like 3 hours, because of my bad allergies, and now, I just finished folding and putting my laundry away, and the day is over!
That was my weekend!
Hope you all a great one!

One Of My Mom's Favorite Tejano Singers Badly Hurt in Crash

Emilio Navaira, a grammy winning Tejano singer is in critical condition after his bus crashed in Houston. I hope everything turns out ok, and he gets better.
I remember listening to him so much when I was growing up. Both my mom and dad used to listen to him a lot. He totally reminds me of my mom and growing up.

Happy Easter!

To everyone and their families. This is the laziest Easter I have ever had. I have really bad allergies today, so I took some Benedryl that makes you drowsy, and I slept most of the day. So now its 7 o'clock, and I was going to make a nice Easter dinner, but its too late, so we will probably just scrounge for something to eat her in the house. It's ok though.
I miss my family today though, (more then usual). They went to Reno this weekend, and I had to miss it, because I worked yesterday. I wish I would have been able to experience a nice place like that with my babies Fabien and Miranda, but its ok, because I will take them back one day.
Im going to Hawaii in SIX DAYS!!!
Hope everyone had a great day today!!

5 Years

It's the 5 year anniversary of the war that should have never been started in Iraq in the first place.
Thanks to President Bush, there have been almost 4,000 casualties.
I support our troops, and am very grateful for everything that they do, and have done for our country, but I do not, and have never supported this war.
I really hope that 2009 will be a better year, and that our next president will clean up the mess that Bush has made.

A Little Late, But...My Weekend.
This past weekend was sort of busy, and went by fast. On Friday, my best friend Laura came down to San Diego, because her brother Charles lives here. Oh, Laura is also almost 4 months pregnant, and I am very excited about it. She has been a very good friend of mine for a long time, and our families are good friends. So when she comes to SD I usually hang out with her ALL day and night. So we hung out, and played Rockband at her brother J.R.'s house, who only lives like 2 minutes away from me.
Saturday, Sharah and her sister and Cousin Hannah went to their cousins wedding, but I dont really know that cousin, so i decided not to go, and take care of Kylah. Her cousin Hannah, Baby Hailey and Chris (Hannah's husband) stayed the night at our house on Friday and Saturday. So I played with Baby Hailey as much as I could. I love her! She is such a good baby, and she smiles and laughs a lot. She knows how to play already. Something that was funny, was I was getting close to her face and saying "Besito besito besito" and she would make a crying noise and face like she didnt like it, so I would back away, and as soon as I did, she would stop and i did it over and over, and she kept doing the same thing. It was pretty funny, but it was her way of playing. So later on, on Saturday I went to hang out with Laura, and we just had dinner and hung out. It was storming that night, and it even HAILED! Good thing I got home right before the thunder and lightening!
Sunday it was just about Baby Hailey, because they left that day, and I also went to say goodbye to Laura and Frankie.
So it seemed like I had a lot going on. It was fun though.
Above you can see a picture of our walkway to our front door covered in ice, and then a picture of me and Baby Hailey, she's 3 months now.

Happy St. Patrick's Day
Did anyone get pinched today?? =)
I remember when I was in elementary school, we would come back in the class from lunch, and the classroom would be trashed! There would be little green footprints all over the place and then there would be little treats inside our desks....then....we would have to clean up the classroom!

Work Is Fun!
Today for work I went to Birch Aquarium with the boys that I take care of. I had never been there yet. It was fun, and nice, but that aquarium has nothing on the Monterey Bay Aquarium!! It is probably 1/4th the size of it! But it was still nice.
Wouldn't you like to go to the aquarium for work?? =)

New $5 Bill

They added some purple to it. Interesting!
Well they need to give ALL the US currency a makeover, because I've seen a display that had a bunch of different currency and I think we have the ugliest money!
It came out today. Lets see how long it takes to come across one.

Should This Reflect On Hillary?
Geraldine Ferraro resigned from the Clinton campaign on Wednesday, for these remarks that she made on Barack Obama: "If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman, he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept".
For some reason, I really dont think that she meant anything "racist" on what she said, yes, it was referring to his race, but I dont think that she meant it in a bad way. I mean, if you really think about it, the country is caught up on him being African American, and though they (the country) are not being racist, they sure are being sexist, which to me is just as bad as being racist.
I dont know much about Ferraro, but I know that she did the right thing by stepping down, so that she doesnt hurt Hillary more then she already has.
But will this woman and her comments reflect on Hillary? Im sure it will, and I think its wrong. They want to make her the one that is playing the race card, when mostly all African Americans are voting for Barack Obama JUST because he is black. Ive heard it with different minorities, "I voted for Obama, because he's a minority". I think thats wrong! Just because he's a minority, doesn't mean he has the experience to run a country. Oh well people are gonna think what they want to think i guess!

It Really Is A Small World
So today when i got home from work, something funny happened.
As i was unlocking the front door, and about to walk in the house, a guy is in our driveway, and he says. "Excuse me, do you mind if i take pictures of your house?" And i was like for what? And he said that he grew up in our house 30 years ago. So he said he was back in SD, and wanted to see his old house. I asked him where he was from now, and he said he was from Virginia. And i was like oh, my friends brother in law that also lives here is from Virginia. Im talking about Jay. Anyways, he was just telling me about how he had a lot of bad memories, and some good memories in our house, and he showed me where he left his bike on the lawn, and it got stolen. He was actually really nice. He was a military guy. He was Filipino of course, and he was 38. He was very emotional looking at the house. So i told him go ahead, take all the pictures u want. And i went inside. I told Jay, hey there a dude out there that said he lived in this house 30 years ago, and hes from Virginia you should go out there and talk to him. He hesitated at first, but then he went out there, and started talking to him. And it ended being that they knew a lot of the same people from Virginia, it was funny to see them talk, because they were so amazed that they knew the same people and same places. And then to top it off, this guy, who's name is Benson by the way, now is stationed in Hawaii in Oahu. And that is exactly where we are going in 3 weeks. He gave Jay his number, and said to call him when we were over there so he can tell us the good places to eat.
After this happened, i was just thinking what a small world!

Is It Still Anybody's Game?
Well sad to say, but yesterday Barack Obama won the Mississippi Primaries, which hadnt been held in over 30 years by the way, because the state is mostly Republican. He was also declared the winner of the Texas Caucuses. So he has gained a more then 100 delegate lead on Hillary.
But has this race become racial?? I think a lot of African American Democrats are for Obama because he is African American.
I dont know, i think its losing hindsight to what this race is really about. Who can do best for our country. And I think its Hillary.

Another Pollitical Scandal

New York Governor Elliot Spitzer, resigned today after being caught up in a prostitution ring.
You know, some people are comparing this to Bill Clinton's Monica Lewinsky scandal, or Governor McGreevy's gay scandal, but I think this is a whole different category. Prostitution is illegal, and hiring a prostitute is illegal as well, and Spitzer did something illegal, and the other guys didn't. An affair with an intern is not illegal, neither is a gay affair. It is wrong, by far, but not illegal. So people should stop comparing this to them.
The funny thing about this is that Spitzer was one of the people that was for harsher punishment for prostutution, and here he is. Talk about a hypocrite.
This disgusts me, and I hope these politicians smarten up!

The Weekend is Over!
Today was Daylights Saving, and its gonna take awhile to get used to it! Its 7 o'clock, and its not even dark outside yet!
My weekend was good , but short. Well it felt short at least. On Friday night, I worked till about 11pm. It wasnt planned, but it was ok.
Saturday, I got up went to the gym. The gym is soooo much better on Saturdays, just because there are a lot less people then during the week. And any machine is available, and you dont have to stand around and wait for a treadmill. Its just better. After the gym, I came home and slept. At night, we went to Chili's for dinner. Me, Sharah, Marie. CJ and her boyfriend Jay. We got such bad service! But i think its because the girl was new. Sharah's cousin Hannah, and her husband Chris and their new baby Hailey stayed the night at our house. I love baby Hailey...she is sooooo cute!! She's such a good baby too.
Today, we all got ready and went to Sharah's other cousins daughter's (Jianna) 2nd birthday party. We were there pretty much all day, and now im home, and it seems early, but its late! Im finishing up my laundry so all my clothes are clean for the week. And the weekend is pretty much over!

USDA Wants Cameras in Slaughterhouoses

I am all for this. It is to make sure that the inhumane treatment of cattle stops. This comes after a big beef recall on February 17th.
I mean, I cant be a hypocrite and say that they shouldn't kill these animals and all that, because I do eat meat. But, I hope to one day not...I dont eat it as much as i used to though. But the way that they treat these animals, even if they are gonna get slaughtered, is just wrong.
So i dont think putting surveillance cameras in slaughterhouses is a bad thing at all, and I hope they do it!

This Scares Me!

18 year old Lauren Burk, a student at Auburn University in Alabama, was found shot on a highway at 9pm on Tuesday, and her car in flames on her campus about 20 minutes later.
That's why I really try not to go anywhere by myself at night. And when I do, stuff like this always goes through my mind.
This is very sad.

Oh No!

Southwest Airlines have been flying "unsafe" planes. I guess 117 of its planes didnt pass the inspection, and they knew about it, and they still flew them.
Wow, being such a big airline, and also the airline that carried the most people last year you would think they would be smarter then that. Also, they put LOT'S of lives in danger!
I might have to think twice about using Southwest. Which is sort of a bummer, just because it is one of the cheapest airlines.

Terrorist Attacks in Jerusalem
A Jewish Seminary was attacked. At least seven people have died. One of the attackers is dead also. There are at least 20 more people injured.
This is all I know right now. Im sure more will come out later.

Explosion At Times Square

It happened at the military recruiting office. Security cameras show a person on a bicycle approaching the building. The placement of the actual bomb was not seen, but police are looking for the person on the bike. A bike was found not far from the scene, in a trash can.
This is what New York Mayor Bloomberg had to say: "Whoever the coward was that committed this disgraceful act on our city will be found and prosecuted to the full extent of the law,"
This might be an anti-war protest, because similar things have happened in New York, one in October, and one in May 2005.
I mean, I am against this stupid war too, but I do support our troops very much. It's not their fault that they got orders to be in a war that wasn't even necessary. Don't blame the troops people!

Next Up...

Pennsylvania! That is the next big state that we need to win! There is the Wyoming Caucuses, and the Mississippi Primaries still to come, but Pennsylvania has a lot more delegates up for grabs! The Pennsylvania Primaries are on April 22nd.
So this is what im thinking....Hillary will do good in Penn., because it is close to New York, and she is the Senator of New York. We shall see, and hope and pray!
In the words of my Nini Irene..."VIVA HILLARY!"

120 Yr. Old Helen Keller Picture Found
Do you all know who Hellen Keller is? Well i remember learning about her when I was little, and her story always fascinated me. She was blind, deaf and mute. Imagine that. Can you? I cant! Not being able to see, hear or talk!
Well this picture of her and her teacher Anne Sullivan was discovered. Experts on her life said that this may be the first picture of Hellen Keller holding a doll. DOLL was the first word that she spelt. This picture was taken in July 1888!
I think that its really cool. I forgot her whole story, but I think im gonna do research, just because i remember I was interested in her Hellen Keller's story.

Patrick Swayze from one of the best movies ever, has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
They said he is responding good to treatment. I hadnt realized how much older he is since I last remember him.
I hope he gets better!

Who Would You Rather?
Both Hillary and Barack were doing their media this morning.
Hillary had this somewhat controversial commercial about National Security.
When they were on CNN's American Morning, they were asked the same question of which, what makes them the one that should answer that phone call at 3 am? And from Hillary's answer I hear stuff that she has done, and she sounds more then capable of answering that phone call. And yes she does say stuff about Obama, but I hear more about what SHE has done!
Obama on the other hand. obviously doesnt have enough experience to answer the question. All he says is that Hillary did not vote against the war and he did. Which yes, I admit I wish she didnt do that, but Obama has nothing more to say but that. When Hillary is saying all this stuff that she has done all he is saying is that Hillary didnt vote against the war. I want to hear more things that Obama has accomplished. But do to his lack of experience we're not hearing that.
I think I would rather Hillary answer that phone call. Just my opinion though!

Huckabee Out

Mike Huckabee bows out of the Republican race, and endorses John McCain. Not that I really care, but this leaves McCain as the Republican nominee officially.
Whoever wins the nomination for the Democrats will beat the Republicans either way.

She Got The Texas Primary!!!!
YES!!!!!!!!!!
I am exstatic! There is still the Texas Caucuses, which only have 5% counted, but this is still a HUGE WIN!!!!!
GO HILLARY!!!!!!!!!!

AHHHHH!!!!

Hillary has won Rhode Island and Ohio!!! Ohio is a HUGE win. And as of this minute, she has a thin as a hair lead in Texas, when she was down more then 10% a few hours ago. Man, this can go either way!!
Barack Obama did win Vermont, although it would have been nice to win there, but it was expected for him to win there.
I am so extremely happy right now!!! I feel very anxious, and I cant wait for Texas to be final, and hopefully Hillary will have locked in the win!
C'mon c'mon!!!!!!!!!

Another Super Tuesday!

I can't even bear to watch or read! I dont think im gonna read the news, or watch anything that has to do with the election today until tonight. It will be super hard, but I just cant! That's how nervous I am! I want this for Hillary really bad! This is pretty much her last chance. She absolutely NEEDS both Texas and Ohio today! Not one, but both!!
But you know what, whatever happens in the end of this race, I'll be supporting whatever Democrat it may be in November.
But im just really hoping its gonna be Hillary! Im keeping my fingers crossed!

Baseball and Softball Season Has Begun!

This year, BOTH of our babies are playing!
Fabien is on the Marina Rockies, and Miranda is on the Marina Diamond Girls.
Baseball runs in the Rodriguez blood. When I was a kid, I was in Softball, my sister was in softball. And we were both good. The one good gene that our sperm donor passed down, was his baseball gene. Luckily Fabien and Miranda got it. Well Fabien is an AllStar at every sport with a ball, but baseball is THE sport! Im not saying this because he is my nephew, but he is REALLY REALLY good! i love watching him play! And Miranda, I haven't really had a chance to see her, but from what ive heard, she is good too. She has a great example from big brother though!
I will be going to Greenfield more during baseball season to see my babies play. It is a must!
GOOD LUCK MY BEAUTIFUL BABIES!!!

Long Overdue!
BEFORE
AFTER
I got a haircut finally!! I dont know how long exactly it had been since I had gotten one, maybe between 6 months and 8 months. But it was OUT OF CONTROL! And the ends were all dead, so it was way overdue for a haircut. I was hesitant to go this short, because it's been a long time since i've cut it this short. But I like it! It feels sooooo much better!
What do you all think??

So I will be there for a whole week! I wasnt that excited, when we first started planning for it, because A, I didnt have money saved yet, and B it was still far away. But now it is closer and i've saved money, so i feel different.
